Why Use Tend?

We work with a number of charity and community partners to deliver our programme to their users,  either as part of their own mental health programmes, EAP programmes, or projects they run with their partners, including NHS Talking Therapies.

We offer a great deal of flexibility. Access to Tend can be funded by our partner or by their funders; or paid for by the user, either per session or upfront for the full 8-session programme. They can undertake the sessions within the partner’s own community setting, or at their own home.

Cost Effective

Up to five times cheaper than Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Highly Engaging

Users enjoy the experience, with 67.6% completing all 8 sessions.

Flexible

Delivered at home or in the community; can be offered as a funded or paid-for service.

Immediately Scalable

Tend allows for fast reductions in wait lists and is instantly scalable.

Our charity and community partners include multiple Mind locations across the UK, New Horizons, We Are Farming Minds, The DPJ Foundation, The Retreat Clinics, Supporting Humanity, Health Innovation Network South London, Health Innovation East and NIHR.

Tend & VCSE

Talking Therapies

We work with charities who provide Talking Therapies services within their communities, often funded by the NHS.

EAP

We can deliver Tend as part of your Employee Assistance Programmes for organisations within your communities, as well as to your own employees.

User Purchase

We are partnering with Mind to make Tend available to their clients as an end-user direct purchase.

How Tend Is Delivered

Referral

Clients are referred by our VCSE partner for an introduction to Tend VR-MBI. After a 20 minute introductory session, they are able to decide if our virtual reality programme is suitable for them.

Intervention

Clients book themselves in for their eight week programme. With our VCSE partners, these can also be paid for by the end-user themselves, on a session by session basis. Sessions can take place in the VCSE’s own designated space, or at the client’s home.

Discharge

At the end of the eight week course clients have their final outcomes recorded. With 73% reliable improvement, patients finish Tend VR-MBI with new skills and techniques, and a better understanding of their mental health.

User Testimonials

All quotes are from participants in our 2025 Mind Research study.

“It was amazing! Honestly I came in quite sceptical, because I haven't found a lot of techniques to be helpful, but I was blown away by this.”

“I think the programme is really great... I found it really helpful to also learn how to challenge my mind and settle with all the challenging things I'm dealing with.”

Being at the remote mountain retreat helped me focus and concentrate…I am well impressed with the approach.

“For the first time that I remember I am able to calm my brain, and can feel it slowly learning that it doesn't have to be worrying all the time.”

Working with Tend VR has provided an innovative and accessible way for people to engage with their mental wellbeing. We have seen participants benefit from the immersive experience, helping them build mindfulness skills, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase confidence in managing their wellbeing.
