What Is Tend VR-MBI?

Tend is an evidence-based mental health programme designed for population-wide impact. Our Virtual Reality Mindfulness-Based Intervention (Tend VR-MBI) is reshaping how we support people facing common mental health challenges.

Backed by years of research, Tend’s impact is well established. That’s why we’re proud to be a trusted partner of the NHS, Mind, and many other voluntary sector organisations.

How Does Tend Work?

We’ve taken a evidence-based therapy for depression and anxiety and enhanced it with the immersive power of virtual reality, creating a highly effective programme that's accessible anytime, anywhere.

Tend transports the user into a soothing virtual environment, helping them break free from the thinking patterns that lead to low mood and anxiety. Our programme is designed to help users feel calmer, manage negative thoughts, and learn practical, evidence-based techniques to reduce stress in day-to-day life.

How Is Tend Used?

Delivered through a Meta Quest VR headset over eight 45-minute sessions, Tend can be accessed in a clinical or community setting, or at home.

Complementing the VR experience, users receive access to Tend’s mobile companion app, featuring simple exercises and mindfulness practices to support their wellbeing anytime, anywhere.

How Do We Support Tend Customers?

Through a comprehensive set of support materials for both direct users and delivery partners, we provide the knowledge and the tools to enable our products to be used confidently, safely and effectively.

For our delivery partners, our team is available to work closely with you to ensure a successful roll-out of Tend to your user groups, for the best results.

The use of virtual reality within Tend VR’s therapy is remarkable – mindfulness is a hard task to master... The VR modality reduces environmental influences and then goes one step further, offering an alternative calming experience in which to undertake the therapy exercises.
